7 years ago today Joe and I were married. It was a rushed time and mixed with such difficult emotion. We were both far from home and the attacks of 9-11 had just happened. The whole country was still in shock and we were afraid I might be deployed and so decided to move our wedding up and not wait until late October as we had planned it. It was a really hard decision especially for me as my family (except for John and Christy) had not even met Joe yet and so I was going to marry this man without the confirming approval of my family. Not that they disapproved, but they were just trusting my judgement as they had nothing else to go on. Our wedding being so last minute, Joe and I only had a weekend off work before we had to be back. It was not ideal, but I know the Lord had His reasons for the way things happened and I'm so thankful for the man that He brought to me in little Ole Augusta, Georgia. Three months later little Luke was growing inside me and thus our journey as parents so quickly began.
And now here we are, 5 kids and 7 years later and filled to the rim (and overflowing) with blessing. The Lord has led us and changed us and helped us and blessed us with a lifetime of blessing in these few short years.
I love you Babe! You're more than I ever dreamed of and I don't deserve such a man, but I'm so thankful that my Father blessed me so richly with you! Happy Anniversary! Here's to the next seven years and five more babies ;).

I've been thinking about that time so much lately- remembering how Micaela was in my tummy at your wedding :). She has now become a professional flower girl, you know. She made her fifth appearance last night. Anyway- we've treasured your friendship and miss you both so much.

Happy Anniversary! I know its late, but I don't know that I've ever actually been on time with anything. Yikes! Anyway, after reading about all your kiddos, I can totally see you being the mom of ten+ kids! By the way, what has impacted you about having kids? We just recently, as in this past April, decided to give that control over to God permanently. I was in a Bible study using Be Fruitful and Multiply by Nancy Campbell and boy did God use that to give us a kick in the pants about taking that control from Him and deciding how many blessings we were going to allow Him to give us. Well, I was pregnant the next month, so obviously He wasn't done giving us blessings! :) It will be interesting to see how many He ends up giving us...... It also completely changed my perspective on birth control too, of any kind.

Hi Shelly! Good to "hear" from you. :) I can't say that anything specifically has impacted our thoughts on having children, or how many we would have. We don't really have a philosophy that we would live or die by (although each time I am pregnant I am certain I'll die if I ever have to do this again...). I have a really hard time being pregnant and so we don't take lightly the impact of those months on our family but at the same time we just desired more children each time and we felt peaceful to let the Lord bless us with one more if He chose to. Of course He has blessed us much and even helped me out with two kids, one pregnancy :). As for whether we will ever have ten... I doubt it, though we've always been interested in adoption/foster care. And, you just never know what the Lord has planned. Hope the rest of your pregnancy is healthy and peaceful! I know this next babe will be another beautiful blessing for you!
